Anthony Davis alley oop

Anthony DAvis catches the high lob from Roberts and flies in with one hand to throw it down.  The new look Pelicans have a blooming star in Davis as he tries to have a breakout season.

Xavier Henry Emphatic Dunk

Xavier Henry had a career high 22 points today and threw down this emphatic dunk on the fastbreak!  He looks like he is poised to play some key minutes with Kobe out as he can play the 2 and the 3 position.  He had a much better game than Nick Young who went 3-10 and if Henry keeps it up he should be inserted into the starting lineup.

Jordan Hill's Wicked Spin and Emphatic Dunk on Gobert

Hill big spin and dunk. The Lakers are going to need good production from Hill this season off the bench and for him to stay healthy.  He showed glimpses last year but this year he needs to put it all together and play around 22 minutes a night.  His first 3 preseason games were rough as he only scored 4 total points and 14 rebs in 43 minutes but his last 2 games he had a combined 20 points and 11 rebounds in 36 minutes.  As the primary backup PF/C he will need to average around 10 pts and 7 rebs for the Lakers to be successful.

Top 10 Dunks of the 2014 NBA Preseason

The top 10 dunks of the preseason are highlighted by Deandre Jordan but I think Taj Gibson's dunk should have cracked the top 10 and Gerald Green's inbounds alley oop was better or equal to the one he has in here.

DeMarcus Cousins' Ferocious Slam | Kings vs Clippers

Cousin's with an angry dunk on the Clippers last night.  Of course Espn didn't show this in the highlights but shoed Deandre Jordan's multiple dunks and no Kings highlights even though they won.  The future looks bright in Sacramento however!

Dwight Howard's Opening Dunk | Rockets vs Spurs

Dwight Howard gets the first 2 points of this preseason game against the Spurs with a big one handed throw down off the pass from Harden.  Are the Rockets title contenders?

Drummond Powerful Alley Dunk

Andre Drummond catches the lob from Bynum and punches it down!  Drummond is expected by many to have a breakout year in his sophomore campaign and he looks like he will after a strong summer league and preseason so far.  Drummond can be a 15 point 12 rebound 3 block player in this league and is one of, or the most athletic center in the NBA with Deandre Jordan maybe topping him in athleticism.

Landry Fields Alley oop vs Knicks

The former Knick Landry Fields rises up for the two hand alley oop and shows he can elevate way above the rim.  Landry got a huge contract from the Raptors after co starring with Jeremy Lin in New York for a year but he has not lived up to the hype.  Last season for the Raptors he averaged under 5 points per game and under 15% from three point range while playing just 20 mins a game.  It will be tough for him to gain more minutes this year with the emergence of T Ross, and with Demar and Gay in the starting wing spots.

Reggie Jackson Finishes With Authority

Reggie Jackson shows his athleticism as he finishes with the dunk and the foul.  Jackson showed he could play with Westbrook out in the playoffs he was a decent fill in.  He kind of reminds me of a lesser version of Westbrook meaning that he is an athletic, scoring point guard who likes to shoot a lot.  We will see how OKC does while Jackson is starting in place of Westbrook to start the season.

Ben McLemore's Strong Throw Down

Ben Mclemore gets ahead of the break and throws down a two handed dunk.
Mclemore is known for his knockdown three point shot but is also very athletic.  He looks like he is one of the fastest two guards in the NBA and has one of the highest verticals.  The 20 year old rookie scored 23 points this game and he looks to be the Kings starter and rookie of the year this season.  Marcus Thorton was used primarily as the sixth man last year and should fit there again this year.

Thomas Robinson's Amazing Putback Dunk

Thomas Robinson's putback dunk on his former Sacramento Kings team.  Robinson was drafted 5th by the Kings last year and then traded to the Rockets midway through his rookie year along with Garcia for Patrick Patterson and Toney Douglas.  Robinson saw limited minutes in Houston and then was shipped to Portland for two second round picks and two rights to foreign players.  Robinson is currently fighting for a starting spot in Portland but will most likely be an energy guy off the bench.

DeAndre Jordan Sick Alley Oop

Deandre Jordan catches a sick one handed alley oop from Darren Collison who then gets hit in the face with the ball after it goes through the net!  Collison's first lob to Deandre didn't quite go as planned but it was still a real nice highlight.  Deandre Jordan might be the most explosive center in the NBA.

Mo Harkless Dunks and Draws the Foul!

Mo Harkless is a second year small forward who was the 15th pick in the 2012 nba draft. He averaged 8 points and 4.4 rebounds per game last year while playing 26 minutes per game.  Harkless should be Orlando's permanent starter this season after starting 59 games last season.  Look for him to average about 13 points per game and increase his 3 % from 27 to around 34 while also raising his free throw % from 57 to just under 70.

LeBron's Back-to-Back Dunks in DC!

Lebron is in midseason form already!  He looks poised to win the dunk contest after these two huge preseason dunks vs the Wizards.  The first is a sweet reverse dunk he brings down between his legs on the fastbreak and the second is an underhand scoop alley oop pass from Bosh where Lebron reaches way back with his right hand to throw down a ferocious dunk!

Taj Gibson posterizes Kevin Seraphin and Bradley Beal in the preseason game between the Bulls and Wizards.  This NBA Global game was played in Rio.

DeAndre Jordan's Fast Break Jam

The NBA Preseason.  Jordan gets a huge dunk on Enes Kanter in yesterdays preseason game.  Expect a lot more posts of dunks now that the NBA is back!
